The feast of Sto. Nino
Once again Our Lady of the Valley Faith community celebrated the Feast of Sto. Nino last Sunday, January 18. Nine prayer groups and ministries both in English and Spanish led the praying of the novena at the nine stations set up by the Parish Hall. A procession of the Image of Sto. Nino was held and culminated at the 1:00 p.m. mass celebrated in English, Spanish and Filipino languages by The Rev. Fr. Lawrence Santos with the Rev. Fr. Ik Ikeocha as co-celebrant. The celebration was made very lively by the Danzantes performing their native religious dances. A blessing of all children present at the church was also held. Sto. Nino images brought by the church goers were also blessed. The feast of Sto. Nino is simultaneously celebrated all over the world. One of the most prominent celebrations is held in the Phillippines which relates the story of how the image reach the island. This is the Sinulog festival held in Cebu (one of the largest and modern cities in the Visayan Island} a much awaited event by not only the Filipinos but foreign tourists as well.
